Saucin' on a Budget - Simon's Philly Cheesesteak

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 1 green pepper, sliced

  • 6 slices of provolone cheese

  • 6 hoagie rolls

  • 6 tablespoons of Simon's Secret Sauce (any flavor)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. Add the onion and green pepper and sauté until the vegetables are soft and lightly caramelized. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

  3.  In the same skillet, add the minced beef and cook until it is browned and cooked through. Use a wooden spoon to break up any large chunks of meat.

  4. Once the meat is cooked, add the cooked onions and green peppers back into the skillet and mix well.

  5. Add Simon's Secret Sauce and Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Cut the hoagie rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast the rolls in the oven until they are lightly crispy.

  7. Place a slice of provolone cheese on top of the meat mixture in the skillet and stir until the cheese is melted and evenly distributed.

  8. Using a spatula, scoop the meat mixture onto the toasted hoagie rolls.

    Serve hot and enjoy your delicious minced Philly cheesesteak!
